Arm dagger and sheath from northern Nigeria. The handle is of waisted form, made from polished horn. Plain steel blade tapers to a point. At the upper end of the sheath is a loop of plaited leather which attached the sheath to the arm. The wooden sheath is covered with leather, reptile skin and red-dyed leather strip, and terminates in a circular leather 'button'. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
