Sword and scabbard from Wurkum Hills of northern Nigeria. Waisted iron or steel pommel, wooden handle with long hand-grip and shoulders, covered in brown leather. Blade swells slightly above tip, with a flattened S-shaped cross-section. Broad wooden scabbard covered with brown leather and animal skin, one face with three removable, narrow iron blades with curled over ends. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
