Arm dagger and scabbard from northern Nigeria. Polished wooden handle of waisted form, no pommel, the tang of the blade is secured at the upper end by a small disc. Steel blade with a slightly raised central ridge which tapers to a sharp point. Elaborately twisted leather strips form the arm strap at the upper end of the sheath, which has scored linear and stamped decoration with a circular leather 'button' type terminal. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
