Small dagger and sheath from northern Nigeria. Wooden handle with fan-shaped upper end and sloping shoulders. A transverse line is cut around the circumference of the handle at the top of the shoulders. Brown leather sheath with scored and black dye decoration. Leather strip bound around the lower end to form a terminal. There is a smaller strip towards the upper end which was probably for suspension. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
