Small dagger and sheath from northern Nigeria. Wooden waisted handle with two incised lines at either end of a small barrel-shaped hand-grip. Plain steel blade which tapers to a rounded point. Leather covered wooden sheath with a bulbous terminal. Sheath decorated with diagonal, parallel scored lines on one side, and an attachment loop of plaited leather. Collected by Lieut Col Robert L. Beasley DSO between 1901 and 1906.
