Wrting cabinet/Chest of drawers designed by Ernest Gimson. This chest of drawers comes from the family of Sydney Gimson. It was used at Sydney’s summer cottage, Stoneywell, in Charnwood Forest. Stoneywell was designed by Ernest Gimson, and is considered one of his most innovative buildings. The chest of drawers may be referred to in the letters between Ernest and Sydney. Ernest writes asking if a chest of drawers has arrived safely, and says, ‘We thought it was the best chest Daneway has yet made.’
