Certificate of appreciation to Mr and Mrs Scrubey for 25 years service at Rodmarton Post Office, 1944, made by Louise Powell. Painted, with applied stamps. William Scrubey had been the head gardener at Rodmarton Manor, and had planned the gardens there alongside architect Ernest Barnsley. The certificate was commisioned by the owners of Rodmarton, Claud and Margaret Biddulph, and was presented by the villagers. The small painted panels show both Scrubey's old and new houses in the village, the church, and the phone box. Powell has also depicted Scrubey's pet canaries.
