Round box and cover of cedarwood covered with grey shagreen, silver mounts designed by John Paul Cooper and made i his workshop. Cooper revived the use of shagreen, shark skin from small sharks like dogfish, in the late 1890s. This box is from the end of his career in the 1920s and shows the pared dowm simplicity of his late pieces.
