Elephant of elongated form made of brass on a long rectangular wooden base which it shares with a hunting figure (1921.258.4). The elephant is decorated with incised and punched decoration. Made in Dahomey (Republic of Benin) for the tourist market, although the register states made by the native people of Gold Coast (Ghana). Collection of Capt Robert Powley Wild.
