The tree-ribbed handle from a Romano-British flagon, grey/orange ware; recovered from the excavation of West Tump neolithic long barrow, Brimpsfield parish, Gloucestershire, between August and November 1880. Excavation was carried out principally by G. B. Witts with assistance from Professor George Rolleston, Univeristy of Oxford. Possibly found near south horn of barrow, 12 inches below the surface.
