'Popular from Pole to Pole', An Advertisement for Bird's Custard, The Tatler, 1905

A magazine cutting from The Tatler, No. 185, dated 11 January 1905, featuring an advertisement for Bird's custard powder (acclaimed by Captain Scott). Printed in greyscale, it has an image of an antarctic snow scene, with the sailing ship 'Discovery' in the ice sheet. At the top of the advertisement are the words 'Popular from Pole to Pole'. To the right is a text box containing an endorsement for Bird's products from Captain R.F. Scott, dated 29th October 1904. In the lower section of the advertisement is another text box expounding the value of Bird's Hot Custard Sauce to the housewife. On the reverse is a separate, unrelated advertisement for Sunlight Soap.
