Описание
Sword of typical Sudanese type, known as a kaskara. Discoidal wooden pommel covered in leather, hand grip bound with leather. A cross-shaped guard and a steel, double-edged blade, tapers down from both sides to form a rounded tip. Steel blade has been etched using a wax-resist method, to form stylized Islamic script on both sides. From the collection of General Sir Francis Howard housed at Castle Godwyn.
